Take a few minutes to fill out our Wednesday night worship feedback form

*We feel called to step into a model of ministry which lives into the reality that the family is the primary way we come to understand God and find our place within the community of faith. That being said, teens do not need an adult in order to be with us during this time.

**There are two aspects of the combined Confirmation/MSM/HSM program(s):  expectations of participation in core classes for confirmation, or the youth room fellowship/faith-building time. If 9th graders choose to stay in Incarnation Hall after worship for core class learning, they are expected to do so with an adult. If they choose to go to the Youth Room, there is no expectation to be accompanied by a parent.

You may find our Vision 1-Pager helpful in wrapping your head around what’s going on.

ELCA Youth Gathering in 2022

Every three years, 30,000 high school youth and their adult leaders from across the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America gather for a week of faith formation known as the ELCA Youth Gathering. Through days spent in interactive learning, worship, Bible study, service and fellowship, young people grow in faith and are challenged and inspired to live their faith in their daily lives. Open to grades 8-12. Financial assistance (first come, first served). Contact us if this fits your need. Here’s the quick-points…

  • July 24-28, 2022 (in downtown Minneapolis)
  • open to current grade 8-12
  • interactive learning
  • service learning
  • big gathering
  • financial assistance available

Cost breakdown for 4 nights/5 days: registration fee (early-bird, $350) + 4/5-star hotel ($250) + meals ($100) = $700

*A $150 nonrefundable, per-person deposit is due at time of registration and must be paid within the rate range you expect to pay. Registrations are not considered final until the $150-per-person, nonrefundable deposits have been received by the Gathering. Delaying payment may move you into a higher registration-fee bracket.

In-person Fellowship and Service Opportunities

During the year we will have in-person fellowship and service opportunities as we’re able. These events will be communicated here, on social media, at weekly meeting announcements, and by email. Please note, these opportunities will require registration prior to the event in order to safely meet within the CDC guidelines.

Click HERE for a list of current service opportunities (link coming soon…)

Service Opportunities for Adults

Adult and high school leaders are the backbone of youth ministry. In order to be responsible for the safety of kids and for the protection of adult leaders, in 2004 the Incarnation Council implemented the Policy for Protecting Children and Youth. For many volunteer positions in Middle School Ministry, including transportation or event leader, adult leaders need to submit a completed background check permission form at least one week prior to the event. Background checks are valid for 3 years.

Information Form

Because of covid, being a guide could mean different things than in years past (table host for worship/learning in Incarnation Hall, service station leader on service nights, hang with us at our monthly fun and fellowship events, etc.), so simply raise your hand if you enjoy spending time with students as they wrestle with issues of faith and God and even challenge your own assumptions.
(The time commitment will be 6:00pm to 7:30 on Wednesday, starting October 6. Training on Wed, 9/15 (5:30p – ice cream social; 7:00p – formation guide orientation). Parent & student orientation on Wed, 9/22, 5:30pm).
