Feed My Starving Children and All Hands on Hope MobilePack™ Event

What Is Feed My Starving Children?

Founded in 1987, Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) is a Christian non-profit that provides nutritionally complete meals specifically formulated for malnourished children. Donations fund the meal ingredients. Volunteers hand-pack the meals. Meals are donated to FMSC food partners around the world, where kids are fed and lives are saved!

Is God calling you to feed the hungry? Answer His call.

Feed My Starving Children MobilePackTM Trial Event Coming to Incarnation April 22-24, 2021!

Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) will offer MobilePack events beginning in June of 2021. To help them prepare for the different configuration and practices required to ensure safety for all involved, FMSC is partnering with Incarnation to host a MobilePack “Trial Event” in April 2021.

The Trial Event is scheduled for Friday, April 23 and Saturday, April 24, with set up on Thursday, April 22, and will be contained in Incarnation Hall and adjacent areas. With necessary socially distanced protocols, no more than 50 people will be packing in Incarnation Hall at one time. People ages 5 and over are welcome to register to pack in groups of five or less, with family or friends – their “COVID bubble”. Note that individuals within a bubble will not be socially distanced from one another. Each bubble will be assigned to a funnel with funnels appropriately distanced from one another. Labelers will be separated from one another by at least 6 ft.

Reservations to Label Bags or Pack Meals

Sign up to label bags as an individual or to pack meals with those within your “COVID bubble”, here. Here are some notes to help make registration go easier:

  • Click on the above link and scroll down to find “2104-077EA MobilePack Trial Event: Incarnation Lutheran Church”. Look for “View 15 Packing Shifts” button and click on that.
  • Look for the day, shift and role (labeling or packing) for which you wish to register, and select it.
  • You will need to establish an FMSC account using your email address and a password if you don’t have one already.
  • If you’ve packed with Incarnation or FMSC before, you may have a FMSC account. If you have an account but don’t know your password, you’ll need to request to change your password to complete your registration.
  • The leader of your funnel group of five or less should register the entire group, complete with all names of those in your group.

More information regarding the event, shift times and safety protocols required of all volunteers at the registration link; safety protocols will look similar to what is presented in this video. Note that shift durations differ each day and each shift is separated by an hour so that the packing room may be adequately cleaned between shifts.

For any questions or assistance needed to register, email Incarnation’s Volunteer Coordinator for this event, Deb Rykken at fmsc@incarnationmn.org or call Becky Benson at 651-560-7058.

Packing at Feed My Starving Children Permanent Sites

FMSC has adjusted processes and practices with COVID-19 in mind, allowing volunteers to pack while keeping everyone safe. Opportunities for volunteers to reserve spots to pack at all their permanent packing facilities including Coon Rapids, are now available. Packing stations accommodate up to five volunteers who will not be socially distanced so sign up with people with whom you are comfortable being physically close; FMSC will NOT put groups together that did not come together. You must arrive wearing your own mask.

The reports from Incarnation individuals who have packed under these new guidelines have been very favorable! Here’s what to expect when packing at the Coon Rapids facility these days.

Learn more or register to pack. Real kids around the world need us to pack food. Pray, Volunteer, Donate.

Food in Action Adult Vision Trips

In the future when it’s again safe to travel internationally, we hope to travel again with Feed My Starving Children and Praying Pelican Missions on a food in action trip. On these trips, travelers have the opportunity to interact with FMSC on-the-ground partners and those who receive food, seeing what this food means to these partnership and the communities they serve. Our Ministry Partnership with Feed My Starving Children

In 2007, Incarnation hosted its first Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) MobilePack™. Since the first packing session, we knew this was going to become a meaningful tradition we wanted to make into an annual commitment to Feed My Starving Children. Six years later in 2013, FMSC became a formal ministry partner of Incarnation in 2013.

Over the years those of Incarnation and their friends have come together on a monthly basis to pack meals at FMSC’s local packing sites. Incarnation has also hosted almost 27,000 volunteers years over 12 annual All Hands on Hope” MobilePacks™ resulting in 7.5 million total meals being packed, feeding 20,564 children! And, hunger advocates within our community have traveled on five mission trips with FMSC to witness and serve meals packed to those most in need.

With God’s blessing, the congregation of Incarnation is living into its mission, Filled by God’s grace, we feed the hungry in heart, body, mind and spirit, through FMSC’s well-established meal-packing and distribution infrastructure for providing life-saving meals to people who need them all over the world.
