Midweek Worship Sermon Series

For Wednesdays in Lent, worship will be at 12:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

The focus for the sermon series during midweek Lenten worship is “The Way to the Cross.” Continuing last year’s theme, each week’s message will be based on one of the scriptural Stations of the Cross. The goal of this series is to be immersed in Jesus’ journey to the cross, to savor the details, to confront our human realities and actions that drove Jesus to the cross, and to experience the abundance and counter-cultural nature of God’s grace. The weekly themes will be as follows:

March 14: The Way to the Cross – Bearing
March 21: The Way to the Cross – Crucifixion

Soup Lunch & Soup Supper

Each Wednesday during Lent, a meal of soup and sandwiches will be served immediately following 12:00 p.m. worship in Grace Hall and from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. in the Gathering Space. Cost: $5 per person or $15 max per family. Volunteers are essential to service these meals.

Lenten Resources

Stations of the Cross:

Stations of the Cross for Children & Families

Spend a little time each week with a moment in Jesus’ journey using the posted guide or walk the complete journey during Holy Week. These new stations will be displayed on the wall between the Gathering Space and the Youth Room (outside of Incarnation Hall).

Experiencing the Stations of the Cross through Art & Prayer

To walk the scriptural version of the Stations of the Cross that Incarnation has display for the past several years, simply start at the beginning outside of the Chapel (located on the west end of the building), move at your own pace, and listen to the nudging of the Holy Spirit as you move from station to station. There is a printed guide available to continue the journey during your prayer time at home. The Chapel is available for your use whenever the building is open.

Lenten Devotions and Coloring Sheets

Lenten devotions and coloring sheets are available on a first come, first serve basis at the Information Center. These booklets use the stations of the cross to draw the viewer deeper into Jesus’ journey through Lent by using Bible readings, reflection questions, and accompanying coloring pages.
