Ministry Partnership Changes

Dear Incarnation Members and Friends,

Our highest goal in Children, Youth and Family (CYF) Ministries is that our children and youth grow in the Christian faith and life as they learn to love and trust God. The CYF staff and leadership of Incarnation Lutheran Church are committed to the safety and well-being of the children and youth who participate in our ministry opportunities. Therefore, it is with sadness that we inform you that for the summer of 2020 we will not be returning to Lake Wapogasset Lutheran Bible Camp, Inc. (LWLBC).

In the summers of 2018 and 2019, there were incidents involving a counselor that have been reported to the leadership of Incarnation. Upon discovery of these incidents and after a review process, the Incarnation Congregation Council decided to suspend its formal partnership with LWLBC indefinitely. This means that Incarnation will not make any financial contributions to LWLBC in 2019, nor will any money be budgeted for the foreseeable future. Incarnation also will not send our children to LWLBC for summer camp. However, we have been given permission to use LWLBC for retreats that are led by Incarnation staff, (i.e. 9th Grade Confirmation Retreat, HSM Youth Retreat).

The CYF staff, along with a team of parents, will vet potential new camping ministry sites for the summer of 2020. This information will be made known to you as soon as possible. Please pray for the staff and governing board of LWLBC during this time. Please pray for guidance and wisdom for the CYF staff and the parents who are seeking a new camp experience for the summer of 2020.
