Blessing of the Backpacks & The Great Incarnation Fall Get Together

On Sunday, September 8, Incarnation will be celebrating a new school year with a special Blessing of the Backpacks during all worship services (8:45 a.m., 10:05 a.m., 10:45 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.). This blessing is a long standing tradition of Incarnation’s and is particularly intended for all students and those who work with students in educational settings. In addition to the blessing, Pastor Joel Vander Wal will provide a children’s message and all children will receive a gift to hang on their backpacks to remind them of the blessing they received and that God goes with them into their educational settings.

Also on this day, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., fun and fellowship will take place at the Great Incarnation Fall Get Together in the west parking lot (Grace Hall rain site). Activities will include bounce houses, face painting, mini donuts, cotton candy and more! Information about upcoming ministry opportunities will also be available. All are welcome to attend this FREE event! Invite your friends and family to be a part of launching the school year in this fun way!

Blessing of the Backpacks List of Schools K-12

During all worship services on September 8, a slide show of schools will be shown in support of students and educators. Please check this list to ensure that your child’s school is included. Please note that this list has been modified since last year to remove schools that children are thought to no longer be attending so the slideshow doesn’t become too long to show in worship. To add a school, email Erin Thorstad the name, location, and a photo of your school at ethorstad@incarnationmn.org by Wednesday, August 28. Please do not forget to include the photo as many schools do not have a high quality image of their facility available online. Thank you.
