Preschool Assistant Teacher

Incarnation’s NAEYC accredited preschool program is seeking a qualified part time assistant teacher for the Tuesday/Thursday classes for 3-4 year olds. This position would be on T/TH from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. with additional hours throughout the school year for meetings, training, prep work, orientation, and school events.  The ideal candidate will have the following responsibilities and will need to meet the necessary qualifications listed below.

The position description includes:

  • Perform routine duties and assist teacher in implementing the daily program for morning and afternoon classes of up to 16 children.
  • Assist in preparing classroom materials and conducting the curriculum in accordance with the school philosophy and NAEYC developmentally appropriate practice.
  • Interact with children as much as possible, providing individual attention when needed.
  • Provide input and documentation with regard to children’s developmental progress.
  • Follow established school policies and procedures as outlined in the staff manual.
  • Participate in school functions, staff meetings, and required in-service training.

Assistant Teacher Qualifications:

  • Meet or exceed qualifications for Assistant Teacher outlined in MN Dept. of Human Services Rule 3 (with the specified combination of Education/related coursework and previous experience with young children).
  • Meet or exceed qualifications for Assistant Teacher by NAEYC.
  • Previous experience with children in a volunteer or paid, informal or formal setting.
  • Previous experience in a NAEYC accredited program preferred.
  • Successful completion of applicant background study.
  • References/indications of attributes of professionalism, patience, amicability and respectfulness toward children and adults.

Director of Confirmation and Middle School Ministries

Job Summary

The Director of Confirmation and Middles School Ministries will provide dynamic leadership and creative visioning to our Confirmation and Middle School Ministries at Incarnation Lutheran Church (ILC); creating space and curriculum that nurtures long term faith of youth from 5th-9th grades and develop strong relationships with all youth and their families.

Essential Functions:

  • Create and implement a vision for Confirmation and Middle School (MS) Ministries. Ministries include: IGNITE 5/6, IGNITE 7/8/9, Summer Camps, (i.e. Lake Wapogasset Lutheran Bible Camp, Summer Stretch), MS Mission and/or Adventure Trips, Milestone Ministries (as applicable), and Family Ministry opportunities.
  • Provide intentional, age, and developmentally appropriate curriculum, service opportunities, and fellowship events, for Confirmation and MS Youth that promotes Christian spiritual formation that is in line with the vision and mission ILC.
  • Seeks weekly opportunities to meet with MS Youth outside of normal ILC programs, (e.g. attend extra-curricular activities at their schools), in order to develop stronger relationships and gain a deeper understanding of their individual contexts.
  • Recruit, train, and encourage lay volunteers for all Confirmation and MS Ministries.
  • Be a resource for those volunteers under your supervision, by providing the latest resources in curriculum tools, developmental characteristics and appropriateness, and classroom management. Serve as the onsite staff member to provide leadership, training and guidance to both lay leadership and paid staff.
  • Provide ongoing evaluations and goal settings with volunteers and Supervisor.
  • Develop new ministry opportunities for Confirmation and MS Youth and their families.
  • Create and manage Confirmation and MS Ministries budget accounts, and work collaboratively with the rest of CYF Team to establish and oversee CYF Combined Programming Budget.
  • Regular administrative duties such as communication of and advertising of programs and events, support of volunteers, coordinating with other ILC Staff when applicable, etc.
