Summer Stretch

Since 2005, several area faith communities have joined forces in the summer months to provide opportunities for service, worship, leadership and fellowship for our middle and high school youth. This partnership has been beneficial on many levels. Youth are able to sample a wide variety of service opportunities, giving them a chance to learn about what their passions and gifts for service might be in the future. Service opportunities are centered around environmental projects, hunger issues, homelessness, and work with the elderly. High school leaders are given a chance to build leadership skills and use their specific gifts to serve youth and the wider community. The ecumenical nature of the partnership has been beneficial to all involved as youth and leaders pray, study, worship, serve and have fun together with other area churches. It is a blessing for all to be able to join together with students that may go to school together, but go to different churches, to do good in the community.

Service projects include things like Feed My Starving Children, Ralph Reeder Food Shelf, Lyngblomsten Assisted Living and putting on a carnival for the residents of Solid Ground. Fun Activities include water parks, bowling and more! We celebrate the end of the week with a celebration day at Valleyfair. A $100 deposit is required to sign up. Register in the Incarnation Office.

If you would like more information on how you or your middle school/high school student can be involved please check out the brochure and registration material found below. Click here to view the brochure.
