Mission, Vision, Values

As part of the Long Range Planning process, Incarnation’s Mission, Vision, Values statement was revamped. The following statement was approved by the Incarnation Congregation Council on November 15, 2016.

Our Mission

Filled by God’s grace, we feed the hungry in heart, body, mind and spirit.

Our Vision

A world filled with God’s grace and love

Our Values

Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we embody God’s love as we connect, grow, serve and invite.  The following core values shape our decisions and actions.

Grace

We embrace and live out God’s unconditional grace, as a free and life-transforming gift through Jesus Christ, revealing God’s love and forgiveness for all people.

in action:  We live into God’s overflowing grace by showing unconditional compassion, care and love for all.

Relationships

We invite all people to share in the Good News of God’s love and to join together in community to bring hope to a hurting world.  We believe God welcomes each of us in life-giving, forgiving love through Jesus Christ.

in action: We connect with one another as a community of God’s beloved children.  We live out God’s relationship with us in our relationships with one another, welcoming and weaving together all people.

Generosity

We give generously of our time, our energy and our financial resources. Our generosity is in response to all that we have been given by God and is meant to spread God’s love in the world.

in action: We serve others as a living response to God’s love.  We are equipped in community to discern our unique gifts and join together as God’s hands and feet in the world.

Discovery

We grow deeper in faith by engaging in opportunities to learn, asking and exploring questions together and stepping into experiences that help us to discover God in new ways. The ways we learn and grow shape our daily living as followers of Jesus Christ through all stages and seasons of life.

in action: We trust the Bible is God’s inspired, living Word, which continues to speak to us today. We believe the Bible communicates the truth of God’s saving love through a variety of literal and non-literal writings.

As a Faith Community

Incarnation gathers in worship to hear and be shaped by God’s Word, celebrate the Sacraments, participate as a community in praise and thanksgiving and be sent out with life-giving messages for a hungry world.

We pray, together and individually, to be in relationship with God, express gratitude, ask for forgiveness and seek God’s heart and will to form our lives as followers of Jesus Christ.  We are engaged in faith practices to be present to God and God’s activity in our world.
